Video Formats Explained ─ NTSC or PAL?

All videos produced and published by Acres U.S.A. are available in NTSC, which is the standard for North America. Some are also available in PAL, which is the standard for the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and much of Europe.

Video players are mostly particular to a single format, although some international players will play multiple formats. Most computers will play discs of multiple formats.

NTSC is the standard for the United States and Canada.

It is also used in: Antigua, Barbados, Bermuda, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Surinam, Taiwan, Trinidad and Venezuela.

PAL is the standard for Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and most of Europe.

It is also used in: Afghanistan, Algeria, Argentina, Austria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Canary Isle, China, Denmark, Dubai, Ethiopia, Finland, Germany, Ghana, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Liberia, Libya, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Portugal, Qatar, Saba, Sarawak, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Uganda, Uruguay, Yemen, Yugoslavia, Zambia, Zanzibar and Zimbabwe.

SECAM is used in Russia, France, and some other countries.
